Casa Channer en Me'xico

I thought it may be helpful for others to see where we live. We live in the South West portion of the city, more or less in the foothills. The place is called Interlomas or Lomas de Tecamalchalco.

One arrives at the top of the hill (which is about 8,500 feet in elevation) and enters the gate that is shown to the side. The gates are about 18 feet high and they are manned 24 hours a day with numerous security guards. The picture to the right was taken out our front room window, looking to the left.

There are 5 or 6 towers in the complex and we live in one of them. Our view is decent in most directions. The picture to the right was taken from our bedroom window. It is also the same view from our formal living room and Michael and Aaron's bedroom. Below are tennis courts, swimming pools and "jalapas." Jalapas are like grass huts that have a place for gathering and barbecues.

The next picture was taken out Emily's bedroom. Her window looks over a residential area. I'm not aware of the name of the tall building in the background but I suspect it's a residencial unit.

The next view is out the rear of our condominium.
These are some of the more unique buildings. They can be seen quite distinctly from the GoogleEarth website. Below is an area that is undergoing major excavation and construction. It is supposed to be the location of the largest mall in Mexico, Central and South America. I suspect it will take years to build.

Although this is not a very good picture, due to the time of day it was taken, it gives you an idea of the interior of the apartment. This is our formal living room and formal dining room. I'm certain it's going to recieve tons of use!! Ha!

Finaly, the last picture was taken looking into the family room. Beyond the family room are the bedrooms. We are fortunate to have a bathroom for every bedroom. It sure makes our getting ready in the mornings a lot easier. Speaking of getting ready, we normally are awake by 5:30 a.m. and on the road by 6:30 a.m. I drive Emily and another student to Seminary about every other day. On those days, we leave the complex at 5:45 a.m. Yikes! Those who know me, know that I have arisen early my entire life--and I can't say I've ever really enjoyed it!

Well, I hope to add a few more pictures in the future. But, for now, this will give everyone a feel for where we live. David
